Between 28th of October and 6th of November, Austria will participate in the I. WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2016 in Monterrey (MEX).

For its final game of the WBSC U-23 World Cup, the Austrian National Team played against Venezuela. The game started early on Sunday morning with Sascha Kotrba on the mound. He did a decent job, but Venezuela started hitting off him well and took over the lead soon. Austria could produce some runs, but not enough to turn the game around. With this, Austria´s journey to Mexico is over.
 

After some rainouts on Friday, Austria got the chance to play South Africa on Saturday at 1 PM in Saltillo. A nervous start had Austria trailing soon in the game, but the team couldn´t recover from it, letting South Africa take its first win in the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2016.
 

Another tough loss for the Austrian U-23 National team. An impressive start brought a 7:0 lead against the U-21 European Champion of 2014, but Austria lost the lead in a black-out inning, allowing eight runs and losing the momentum completely. Austria wasn`t able to recover and was snapped 14:7.
